Trails to explore
Hell's REvenge- Moab, UT
We loved this trail and is #1 on our list thus far. While you are in Moab, we highly recommend checking out:
Restuarants
Retail
Dewey’s was by far the best dinner we have had and highly recommend you go there at least one time even if you have to eat at the McDonald’s dollar menu the rest of your time there. The Blu Pig and Spitfire Smokehouse both had great Pork BBQ with two unique takes that are worth comparing. If you are a breakfast person, the Moab Diner is a staple location where we met many locals.
Shirt Tales does not have a website, but their selection of Moab stickers was the highest quality we could find. Additionally, I was able to make my new favorite shirt here so I highly recommend the visit. If rocks are your thing, the Rock Shop has plenty!
Hot Springs Offroad Park- Rubicon Ridge
Hot Springs Offroad Park is located in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It has several Jeep Rated Trails but the most epic one is Rubicon Ridge. This trail was the first off-roading we got to experience in our ’22 JLURXR (4-door Jeep Rubicon Xtreme Recon). This trail is not for the faint of heart at all and I HIGHLY suggest not wheeling this trail alone. This is an off-road park but they do not provide tow services if you get stuck so having a buddy and a winch is a must.
There is not much around the area. The park has a little shop with shirts, stickers, and snacks. If you plan on wheeling for multiple days or long hours, bring a cooler with drinks and food.
Back way to crown king
The Back Way to Crown King is a wicked 27.3 mi trail that is easy to get to but very long and tedious. I was a huge fan of the trail but Amanda was not. There is a lot of seat time just to get to the trailhead and even longer to finish the trail. Offroad maps are strongly recommended as it is very easy to lose your way with many other trails connecting to this one.
Similarly to the Arkansas trail, there is nothing around this area until you reach your destination. That means hours without a bathroom or store so pack some TP, food, and drinks because you will need them. This trail should be ran with a buddy. Even though we did not need to winch out anywhere on the trail, we saw many people stuck, several abandoned vehicles, and almost rolled ourselves. It is much better to be safe than sorry!
When you get to Crown King, the General Store has some AWESOME fudge that they are known for. The retail aspect of it was disappointing and I hope they take our advice with getting better shirts and smaller/ more detailed stickers. I would come to Crown King again but by taking the regular road there.
